Red and dark berry fruit with nuances of chocolate, ground coffee and classic Coonawarra mint. Plenty of vanilla and charry oak characters. Black currant and dark chocolate flavours upfront and savoury notes at the finish. The structure is firm and full-bodied, almost sweet texture coming from a lengthy time in barrel. Lively and concentrated on the palate, with great persistence of Cabernet varietal flavour.
The wine was put through malolactic fermentation and has been brought together and worked several times during the 3 years in hand selected, tight grain 100% new French oak barriques. Classic full bodied rich dry red. Showing chocolaty development but with the depth of rich ripe flavour to keep on developing for many years yet. Some more time with careful cellaring will see it build even more complexity and most certainly cellar nicely beyond 2025.
