The MAC Shiraz was created from an outstanding vintage by selecting and blending only the finest barrels of Shiraz. Following 24 months in tightly grained French oak individual parcels of Shiraz were selected & the resulting wine was blended. Due to the richness, firm tannins and intense fruit flavours the MAC Shiraz was further bottle aged for 12 months.
The result is a deep red Shiraz with dense aromas of ripe blackberry fruit, spice and pepper. The complex palate is a silky expression of the aromas complementing integrated oak, firm tannin and a long lingering finish.
This extremely limited wine will cellar exceptionally well and reward the patient and discerning collector.

Very good colour; made from a small parcel of wine with exceptional power and richness, says chief winemaker Kym Milne MW, and I don't disagree; it is at the extreme of the full-bodied spectrum of Adelaide Hills shiraz, but has the balance to repay the ex.
Deep red colour with a purple rim, and a peppermint-dominated, floral, cassis and pepper spice bouquet, quite unusual for shiraz. The mint and cassis aromas remind more of cabernet or merlot than shiraz. Good concentration and density, fleshiness and grip, but also elegance. The tannins are abundant and fine. Very complex. A lovely wine with serious cellaring potential - but it doesn't taste especially like shiraz and the mintiness is somewhat domineering.
